Sirkku has over ten years of experience in business development in small and medium sized enterprises in the fields of culture, technology and wellness. Her previous experience includes working as Incubator Manager in technology centers in Seinäjoki and Hämeenlinna. She has also worked  in the International relations unit of the Geological Survey of Finland for ten years where her tasks included commercializing and marketing geological knowhow to international projects in Africa, South-America and Asia. She was also involved in a cooperation with the EU in taking care of the EU framework programs in her organization.

Sirkku has a Licentiate degree in Philosophy from the University of Helsinki and an MBA from the Helsinki University of Technology.
